Set in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, the market town of Hawes is England’s highest market town standing at 850’ above sea level. Safely nestled between the breath-taking Buttertubs Pass and Fleet Moss, the name Hawes means ‘a pass between mountains’. Perfectly located for walkers, cyclists and all manner of outdoor activities for both groups and families, Hawes is the ideal base to explore the magnificent northern Yorkshire Dales. A short drive from Hawes will take you through some famous, and all delightful, dales towns and charming villages throughout the North Yorkshire National Park. The stunning Aysgarth Falls, medieval Richmond Castle and the 12th century Middleham Castle, childhood home of Richard III, are all close to hand. For a magical day away our National Park neighbours in the Lake District can be reached in about 30 minutes.
